About the trip to Greece

I’ll finally be finishing up my undergraduate degree this coming May. I’m so excited!! But before then, I want to go to GREECE! Greece is cool and they have blue roof tops and lots of movies are made there. Plus the school is sponsoring the trip, so it will be super-educational. The way it works is that I register for the travel class offered by the school. We’ll do some reading and learning about Greece and its history, architecture, philosophy, and a bajillion other things I’m sure. Then in March we’re heading over to Greece for 8 days to see what we’ve learned about. I’m pretty sure that’s the coolest way to learn about anything!

Day 1: Depart for Athens, fly overnight
Day 2: Athens – Visit Embassy Row, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the National Palace, House of Parliament, and see the Plaka.
Day 3: Athens – Visit the Acropolis, climb Mars Hill, and visit the National Archaeological Museum.
Day 4: Corinth & Epidaurus – See the marketplace where Paul used to minister, the Temple of Apollo, and the Corinthian museum. In Epidaurus we’ll see the 14,000 seat ampitheater!
Day 5: Nauplia & Olympia – See the Greek coast (oooh!), then visit the royal underground tombs.
Day 6: Olympia – tour Olympia and see the Olympia stadium where the torch for the Olympics is lit by the sun (how cool!).
Day 7: Delphi & Athens – Visit the sight of the Oracle, Mount Parnassus, the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo, and the museum.
Day 8: Athens – Flight home

Make sure you check back on a regular basis to get updates on everything from planning, to fundraising, and finally for pictures of the trip itself. I’m so excited, can you tell?
